St Mary's, Davyhulme

On May 11th, the Bishop of Manchester, The Rt Rev Nigel McCulloch, visited St Mary's Davyhulme.

The Rev Chris Ford , vicar of the church, said:  "We made sure the Bishop saw all that this church had to offer the wider community and he also met  members of that community. Members of the congregation were encouraged by the Bishop to meet the challenges ahead."

The Bishop's pilgrimage, called  'Run the Race - Look to Jesus', is designed is to encourage churches in their work of faith hope and love.

At each visit the Bishop will visit schools, local groups, share a meal with community representatives, listen to their stories and lead a simple church service.

At every visit, the Bishop will carry the baton that was designed for the Commonwealth games, a sign that each community and generation needs to pass on its faith in God.
